What’s up everyone! This is our last issue before most of us head off to Hacker Summer Camp. Tons going on in the product space and it’s starting to feel like the zero interest-rate period (ZIRP) again.
VCs are throwing money in crowded problem spaces where there is little room for new innovation. Non-Human Identities is this week’s victim with two NHI startups (Natoma + Clutch Security) announcing seed rounds from firms like Greylock, Lightspeed, and Merlin. This is interesting because we wrote about the space being crowded in Issue #45.
While that world-class VCs are still investing in the space is great validation for early builders, it’ll always come down to execution. With 10+ players in the space, it is certainly ripe for consolidation and I don’t doubt that some will have to pivot.
This is a great space to watch to understand the nature of the cybersecurity landscape 🍿
